MISTY MEADOWS NORWEGIAN FJORDS – 2002 SALES LIST

All horses are Canadian registered. Prices are in Canadian dollars. Currently prices in US dollars would be approximately 1/3 less than shown. A currency converter link for US dollars and Euros is added for each price quote. This is only included for your convenience. Please bear in mind that this is is not an official conversion rate. The rate that financial institutions charge vary greatly and they are the ones that set the price at the moment you decide to convert your currency to Canadian Dollars.

We are able to transport to seller at cost.

 All young stock have been imprint trained and are handled daily. They have impeccable ground manners throughout all regular grooming and maintenance tasks (halter training, vet checks, farrier, worming, washing, trailering) Most have been exhibited at local fairs and are used to being handled by children and strangers. Although each horse has been extensively worked with to develop ground manners and round pen skills, our fjords are not mounted until age 4 when growth plates in their backs and knees close.

FILLIES

Kariana – weanling filly born October, 2001. Sired by Claylee’s Cole and out of Olof’s Faensi. This filly is one of the most beautiful fillies produced at Misty Meadows. She has her dam’s beautiful head and large size. She will be weaned and ready for her new home March, 2002. She will be a lovely driving or riding horse. CAD$2500 (USD EUR)

Pia – yearling filly born May 17, 2001. Sired by Claylee’s Cole and out of Forden’s Lyn. Like her dam, this filly will be a beautiful all purpose fjord. She learns quickly, is very people oriented and self-assured. She has been imprint trained and has excellent ground manners for a filly of this age. CAD$2500 (USD EUR)

GELDINGS

Rasken – 2 year old gelding, born January 31, 2000. Sired by Claylee’s Cole and out of Forden’s Lyn. This colt exudes self-confidence and is very clever like his dam. He spends much time running from one end of the paddock to the other, is athletic and has his dam’s classic textbook feet.CAD $3000 (USD EUR)

Uri – 3 year old gelding, born June 17, 1999 sired by Claylee’s Cole and from Quadl’s Drey. This compact colt has fingertip control ground manners, loves people and is going to be a great driving or riding horse for a smaller rider. He would be a wonderful children’s pony. His people orientation makes him a favorite among our young guests.CAD $3500 (USD EUR)

Einaar – 4 year old gelding born March 6, 1998. Out of Claylee’s Cole and with excellent legs and conformation and the large size of his dam, Olof’s Faensi. This gelding will be an excellent flashy driving horse. He is strong, people oriented and has fingertip control ground manners. CAD$4500 (USD EUR)

Jorje – 6 y/o gelding born April 5, 1996. Sired by Claylee’s Cole and out of Quadl’s Drey (Cdn and US Registered) Jorje has been imprint trained as a foal, and well-handled daily. He lunges well, and has been well started both under saddle and driving. Because of his small size and his extreme people orientation, Jorje will make an excellent children’s pony. He would also be an asset to any therapeutic riding program. CAD$5000 (USD EUR)

MARES

Olof’s Faensi – SOLD this is a gorgeous 15 year old mare, an excellent broodmare, trail and lesson horse. She has been a mainstay of our breeding herd. Sired by Sollneggeng and out of Anna May, Faensi is dual registered in the Canadian Fjord Horse Association (449) and in the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry. (ACH-A-210-M) She has been a sound and steady worker throughout her 6 years here, producing 3 fillies and two colts. At 14.2 hh, she is large without being heavy and has a wonderful classic fjord head. Her trot is very low and smooth. Calm and collected, even with foals at side, she has been successfully shown in halter and is well trained for riding and driving. She is reliable as a lesson and trail horse for both children and adults. She is currently open, but could be sold bred as well.

Forden’s Lyn – This is an excellent Canadian registered 11 year old mare, a sound and trouble free broodmare, trail and lesson horse. She has been a mainstay of our original breeding herd. Sired by Pipestone Brawn’s Bjorne and out of Flicka 5^th at 13.2hh, and 1000 lbs, she represents the modern fjord horse. Lyn is an excellent broodmare, producing 3 colts and 2 fillies during her time here. She passes her textbook feet and clever mind to her offspring. Calm and yet quick, Lyn has been utilized as a lesson, Pony Club, trail and single or team driving horse at Misty Meadows. She is reliable with both children and adults.
